Okinawa Japan Hotels Times are Changing

Hotels on OkinawaJapan have come a long way over the last 20 – 30 years. Now a days many offer some of the best amenities in Japan like swimming pools, spas, marine sports, gyms, luxury suites concierge services, etc. There are also some really amazing restaurants at the 4 – 5 star hotels that serve Japanese, Western style, and of course famous Okinawan foods.

A big part of the main Okinawan economy is tourism, this leads to a wide variety of Hotels and other types of accommodations being readily available. The friendly Okinawa culture combined with the Japanese attitude of “the customer is god” Means they really know how to cater to their guests on the OkinawaIslands.

Today, more and more hotels are offering services to non Japanese visitors as Okinawa becomes a popular World tourist destination. A big reason for the growing popularity of Okinawaas a vacation and adventure spot for European and other vacationers is the relative safety, cleanness, and unspoiled nature through out the main and smaller islands. Combine these factors with the high end service at many of the hotels and much of the expectations of these types are travels and holiday makers is easily met.

One of the challenges that now faces the tourism industry however is the need to train their staff to deal with a more international customer base. The first challenge comes with language barriers needing to be broken down. As English becomes increasingly the international language of communication Okinawa is still struggling to catch up but I am happy to announce many of the high end hotels and resorts on Okinawa have begun to meet the need and this in turn has lead some of the smaller guest houses and inns to follow with English websites and services.

If the trend of more people wanting to come to what I think is one of the most beautiful places in Japan continues I fell confident that the tourism industry will continue to meet the needs of the travelers and I can only hope that the Hotels and Resorts on Okinawa will continue to lead the way.
